I like AMD, but stay away from the K6 if you can, as you are buying a 500mhz cpu, there is no upgrade path. Their next generation Athlon chips, beat a Pentium 3 from about 550 to Overall, though, upgrade path is kinda ridiculous, as few people well need more speed.
